Chapter Eight: The "Breath of All Things" of the "Connection" Deity

Traveler (Guest):
"Oh, Breath of All Things, the eighth stop on my journey,
I come bearing the 'warmth' of the 'tribe', and the 'lament' of the 'boundary'.
Why in your forest do all things dance together, not 'wage war'?
Can you use your wisdom to solve this 'duality' of 'you and I'?"

Connection (Host):
"O traveler, this 'one breath' you inhale, have you ever 'pondered' its source?
It was once the 'breath' of that 'ancient forest', and also once the 'wave' of that 'distant ocean'.
The 'life' you 'thought' 'belonged only to you' is, in fact, the 'entire world's' 'brief transit' 'within' your 'body'."

Connection (Host):
"The mycelium beneath your feet, have you ever seen it?
O traveler, that is this 'forest's' common language.
'Tree' and 'Flower', 'Birth' and 'Death', are all, in this 'silent' network, exchanging 'information' and 'nectar'.
The 'tens of thousands' of 'separate' 'lives' you 'see' are, in fact, 'one' common dream, 'dreamt' 'tens of thousands' of times."

Connection (Host):
"The boundary is not a 'real' 'wall',
O traveler, that is just an imaginary frame drawn by your 'eyes' so that your 'mind' can 'understand'.
You have never been 'separate' from the 'world'.
You are the world, using 'your eyes' to curiously look at 'its own' 'appearance'."

Traveler (Guest):
"I understand... I am not 'walking' 'in the forest',
I am the forest itself, 'experiencing' the 'sensation' of 'walking'.
My 'breath' is the 'wind', my 'bones' are the 'stones',
My 'every heartbeat' is the 'Universe's' 'single pulse', with no 'you or I', no 'coming or going'."

(Epilogue)

The Deity of 【Connection】 transformed into that omnipresent mist in the forest.
I closed my 'eyes', no longer 'looking', but 'feeling'.
I felt my 'lungs' 'rising and falling' together with the 'leaves'.
I felt my 'blood' and the 'stream' sharing the same temperature.
I felt my 'nerve endings' connecting with the 'ends' of that 'mycelial light-network' deep in the earth.
In that instant, "I" vanished.
At the same time, "I" was also everywhere.
I, with my "All Things", had reached a reconciliation.
